Madeline Olive Harvey

Mrs. Madeline O. Harvey formerly of Seal Cove, Grand Manan Island, passed away at The Grand Manan Nursing Home on Friday, July 31, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Helena (Shepherd) Fletcher. In her younger years she worked for AT&T, later she and her first husband Alan owned and operated a Freight Shipping Business.  She loved riding horses and was a very artistic and accomplished painter. Madeline is survived by her husband Mr. Thurman (Ben) Harvey, two daughters; Leslie Clark (Raymond) of Cleveland OH, Jane Gordon of Chico, CA; one son, Martin Fletcher-McGann (Roshel) of Porter, ME; also her granddaughter Ali who she thought of as a daughter. many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Three sisters; Sylvia Goss, Saco, ME, Carol Fletcher, of  Hookset, ME, Janet Forbes of Castine, ME; one step daughter Paula Harvey of Grand Manan, NB; two step sons Norman (Elizabeth) of Sussex Corner, NB and Ronald (Elizabeth) Harvey of Seal Cove, Grand Manan, NB  many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Alan McGann. There will be visiting, one hour before the Funeral Service at Ells Funeral Home, on Sunday August 2, 2015, the service will take place at 10:00am. Madeleine’s family would like to thank the staff of the Grand Manan Nursing Home for all the special care she received while she was a resident there.
