Jackson Perry "Jackie" Ellis

ELLIS; JACKSON PERRY "JACKIE" (1963-2015) Mr. Jackson Perry Ellis of Woodwards Cove, Grand Manan Island passed away unexpectedly at the Grand Manan Hospital on Tuesday May 5, 2015.  He was born at North Head the son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry and Donna (Tidd) Ellis of Woodwards Cove.  Jackie was a fisherman for most of his working life.  He later owned Ragged Point Cabins on the Island to rent to tourists, and then a convenience store in Cape Breton.  Fishing was his passion in his earlier years with a natural ability to understand fishing herring in the weir industry and enjoy its success. He had many friends who cared for him through his life’s journey.  Besides his parents he is survived by one daughter Amanda Ellis of Georges River, NS.  One son Aaron Ellis of Fredericton.  One sister Heidi (Danny) Ingalls of Otter’s Lake. Two brothers; Justin (Sharon) Ellis of Neripis, and Jamie (Holly) Ellis of Quispamsis.  One grandson Alasdair, and three granddaughters.  He was predeceased by one sister Darlene.

Visiting will take place from the Immanuel Family Church on Thursday from  7-9 pm.  The funeral service will take place from the church on Friday May 8, 2015 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Mark Munn and Rev. George Clark officiating.  Interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.  Jackie’s family has requested donations may be made to the Action Ministries, Maple Grove Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice.
