Searle Douglas Harvey

Mr. Searle Douglas Harvey of Ingalls Head, Grand Manan Island passed away peacefully at the Grand Manan Hospital on Friday February 27, 2015.  He was born at Wood Island the son of the late Glendon and Maude (Wilcox) Harvey.  Searle was a fun loving witty personality and hard working man.  He worked for the Department of Transportation for many years, also he picked perry winkles, dulse, dug clams, and was a fisherman.  An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, trout fishing, and nature.  Good country music was always appreciated by Searle as well.  He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Fleet).  His two daughters; Anita Harvey of Saint John, and Rebecca Harvey of Grand Harbour.  One son; Brenton Harvey of Castalia.  One brother; Eugene Harvey of Saint John, also three grandchildren,  and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two brothers; Maynard and Phillip.

Visiting will take place at the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  The funeral service will take place at the church on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at 1:30 pm with Ruth Fair-Parker officiating and Rev. Ward McComiskey assisting.  The interment will take place in the spring at the Spruce Grove Cemetery.  The family has requested that donations be made to the NB Lung Association.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of Ells Funeral Home Inc., 1199 Route 776, Grand Manan, NB E5G 1G2.
