Frances Elaine  Benson

 

BENSON; FRANCES ELAINE (1934 – 2015) Mrs. Frances Elaine Benson formerly of Seal Cove Grand Manan Island passed away peacefully at the Grand Manan Hospital Wednesday February 4, 2015.  She was born in Seal Cove,  the daughter of the late Bedford and Catherine (Mason) Cook.  She was a graduate of Mount Allison University, and over the course of her working life she worked as a clerk in a store, boned herring, and also held an office position in the Seal Cove canning factory for Connors Bros.  She raised her family with her husband Jimmy in Seal Cove and was a faithful member of the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church.  She is survived by her three daughters; Kathy Brewer (Stephen) of Fredericton, Denise Brown (Dana) of North Head, and Joanne Daggett (Alex) of Quispamsis and one son Pete Benson (Ginnie) of Nashville TN;  one sister Nancy Card (Arthur) of St. George, and one brother Wayne Cook (Shelley) of North Head;   eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was predeceased by her husband James (Jimmy) in 2008.

 

Visiting will take place at the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church on Friday from 6-9 pm.  The funeral service will take place at the church on Saturday February 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Pete Benson officiating, and Rev. Mark Brewer, Rev. Brent Ingersoll, and Rev. Ward McComiskey assisting.  Donations may be made to the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church, Fundy Nursing Home, Alzheimer’s Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Ells Funeral Home Inc., 1199 Route 776, Grand Manan, NB E5G 1G2.
