Liscombe Hilyard Green

Mr. Liscombe H. Green of Grand Harbour Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on January 29, 2015.  He was the youngest child of Ottiwell and Nettie (Brown) Green.  Liscombe was born and raised at Bonny Brook, Grand Harbour.  Later he built his home for his wife Virginia and son Joey at Grand Harbour.  He spent his life working hard as a lobster fisherman and a carpenter alongside of his brother Jewett.  He was a quiet humble man, and strong in his faith.  Enjoying the simple things in life with his wife, he appreciated the people in his life and the good things around him.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  He is survived by his son Mr. Joey (Diania) Green of Grand Harbour.  Two sister in laws; Geraldine Nelson of Seal Cove, and Vera Green of Grand Harbour.  Two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many   nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his wife Virginia, Three sisters; Viola Ingalls, Verona Cronk, and Nina Ingalls.  Eight  brothers; Gearald (infant), Gleason, Sheldon, Vinton, Pearly, Earl, Donovan, Jewett, Oliver.

Visiting will take place at Ells Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday February 1st.  The funeral service will take place at the Seal Cove Baptist Church on Monday February 2, 2015 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Peter Smith officiating, assisted by Rev. Ward McComiskey, and Rev. Hudson.  The interment will take place later in the spring.  Donations may be made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of Ells Funeral Home Inc., 1199 Route 776, Grand Manan, NB E5G 1G2.
