Marion Audrey Reppert

1927-2014

Marion Audrey (Locke) Reppert, 86, died peacefully but unexpectedly on July 16, 2014 at her home in Castalia, Grand Manan Island.  She was born in Castalia, N.B., on September 25, 1927, the daughter of Ashton W. Locke and Ida May (Mason).  She is survived by her two sons, Wade Locke of New Glasgow, N.S., Joseph Woodrow and his wife, Joyce, of Oak Point, N.B., one brother, Ray Harding Locke. She was predeceased by six siblings: Helen Richardson, John, Katrina, Edison, Brenton and Frank.  She attended school first in Castalia, then in St. Andrews, Truro and Saint John while residing with Irwin and Eva (Mason) Greenlaw. Returning to Grand Manan while in Grade 9, she completed her education and graduated in 1946. A year later she enrolled in Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, Rhode Island, where she met her future husband, Kuddle Reppert of Hamburg, Pennsylvania, when he came to visit his sister Marshall Locke.  They were married April 18, 1948, living first in Stratham, New Hampshire, and later in Albany, New York and Port Clinton, Pennsylvania.  In 1957 they moved to Castalia where they remained until they died.  Her final employment was as a kitchen worker at the Grand Manan Nursing Home for over a decade

Several of her favourite pastimes was watching the moon, keeping her property presentable and travelling to Europe which she did with family on five occasions. Recently she adopted the Grand Manan Art Gallery as a favoured cause, supporting the work with her presence, membership and opinions.  She always valued the company of older people, which was evident in her frequent visitation of friends residing at the nursing home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maple Grove Cemetery fund and the Grand Manan Art Gallery.

The family appreciates deeply the extraordinary support of friends who have opened their hearts and offered their help at this time, including travelling from a distance.

The funeral service will take place at St. Paul's Church Hall on Saturday July 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Reverand Wade Reppert officiating and Reverand Ron Ford assisting.
