Mary E. Greene

Mrs. Mary E. Greene of North Head Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital Friday December 20, 2013.  Born in Pleasantville, NS she was the daughter of the late Rev. Frank and Lucille (Wright) Mollins. Mary was a devoted loving mother and wife to her family and husband.  Working both at home raising their family with her husband Carman and also worked outside their home with various jobs from office work at APM in Moncton, working in Herring Stands on Grand Manan, to her work at the local School Board Office on the Island.  Family vacations to Prince Edward Island when her family was young; trips to Grand Manan in the summer months to visit Carman’s family were always a highlight for her and the entire family.  Always faithful she made time for her church life singing in the choir, and making sure all of her children attended while growing up.  Enjoying time solving a puzzle or writing letters to friends was her favorite past time.  Her quiet presence and caring personality will be missed by all who knew her.   She is survived by her two daughters Debbie (Gary) McKinley of Saint John, Kathleen (David) Basque of Dartmouth, NS.  Her three sons; Brian Greene of North Head, Chris Greene of Ingalls Head, and Richard (Heather) Greene of Castalia.  One sister Helen Lawson of New Glasgow, NS, and one brother Rev. George (Sandra) Mollins of Middleton, NS.  Nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.  Mary was predeceased by her husband Carman in June of this year.  Also one sister Winifred Ramsay.
