Annie T. Foote

Mrs. Annie Theresa Foote formerly of Seal Cove passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital Saturday January 28, 2012.  Born at Seal Cove in 1923 she was the daughter of the late Lyman and Wilmina (Guptill) Lorimer. She worked boning and stringing herring in the smoked herring sheds, worked in the Connors Bros. sardine factory in Seal Cove, and also at the Nickerson fish plant at Ingalls Head.  She was a former Cub Scout Leader, and an avid supporter of the Grand Manan Historical Society. Annie will always be remembered for her ability for telling and reciting stories, reading cards, and quoting rhymes and poems, and knowledge of local history.  She is survived by her son Bradley Foote of Seal Cove, one brother Delbert (Helene) Lorimer of Chilliwack, BC.  Her two nieces; Jody Stanley of Brunswick Maine, Patsy Kelley of Lubec Maine, and one nephew Mark Kelley of Rockport Maine.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Ferdinand in 1996. Two sisters Leona Arnold, and Miriam Kelley, and one brother Bernard Lorimer.

Visiting hours for Annie will be held from the Seal Cove Wesleyan Church on Monday from 2-4, and 7-9 pm.  The funeral service will take place at the church on Tuesday January 31, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ward McComiskey officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.  A memorial service on Wood Island will be scheduled for the summer. Annie’s family has requested that donations may be made to the Grand Manan Historical Society. Funeral arrangements are in the care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1199 Route #776, Grand Manan, N.B.
