Nellie Flagg

Mrs. Nellie C. Flagg formally of Woodwards Cove Grand Manan Island passed into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday October 4, 2011 at the Grand Manan Nursing Home with her family by her side.  Nellie was born at Ingalls Head and was raised in a loving home with her parents Luella and Vinton Green.  She married Doug Flagg in 1951and they went on to build their family home together in Woodwards Cove where they worked hard together to provide for their family.  Nellie was always a loving wife and mother to her husband and family. She worked at the Grand Manan High School as the secretary where she was known by all of the students who passed through the school over the many years she worked there.  Her devoted love of the Lord led her to be active at Central Wesleyan Church where she was involved with the Sunday School, Bible Study Groups and faithfully attended Sunday worship.  She is survived by her daughters Brenda (Jack) Rayner, Jocelyn (Laurie) Brown both of Grand Harbour and her son Corey Flagg of Woodwards Cove, as well as seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  Many nieces, nephews and friends.  Predeceased by her parents Luella and Vinton Green, and her husband Doug.

Visiting hours will be held from Ells Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place from Central Wesleyan Church on Friday October 7, 2011 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Kirk Perry officiating.  The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.  Donation may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1199 Route #776, Grand Manan, N.B.
