Belva Linton
1924-2011
Mrs. Belva Gladys Linton, 87 of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island passed away unexpectedly at the Grand Manan Hospital, Friday evening September 16th, 2011. Born July 14th, 1924 she was the wife of the late Roy Linton, daughter of the late Russell and Eva (Brown) Huntley and sister of the late Vance Huntley. She is survived by her two sisters, Della Keating and Armina Patriquin, sister in law Phyllis Thompson, long time daughter-like friend and care giver Heidi Guthrie, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Belva was a faithful member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church, the Women’s Missionary Society, and the Grand Manan Ladies Legion Auxiliary Branch #44. She was a loving, thoughtful care giver to her parents for many years. She will be sadly missed by her family and her numerous friends who accompanied her to Hannah’s Fundy House , church gatherings, community suppers, social gatherings, and places of interest.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 19th, at Ells Funeral Home from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday September 20, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Ed Shaw officiating, interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia.
