Pheobe Foster

Mrs. Pheobe Marietta Foster (87) Of North Head Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home Tuesday August 24, 2010. Born on March 21, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Cline and Elizabeth (Linton) Huckins. Phoebe worked as a fish packer for Connors Bros., and Blair Robinson. She taught Sunday School, and served as a Vacation Bible School Teacher at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Assembly where she faithfully served and loved the Lord with her church family. She and her late husband Lowell lived in Woodwards Cove where they brought up their family togther. Love, guidance, and support was always available to her family whenever they needed her and her well rooted outlook on life will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her two daughters Norma Wilson (Eugene) of North Head, Ruthilyn Ingersoll (Michael) of Woodwards Cove. Two sons; Jeffrey Foster (Greta) of Woodwards Cove, and Russell Foster of Saint John. One brother Jack Huckins (Nellie) of North Head. Eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Lowell, her two sisters Lois McDowell, and Phyllis Smith. Also two brothers Theodore and Alva Huckins.
Visiting will take place on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm from the Immanuel Pentecostal Assembly. The funeral service will take place from the church on Friday August 27, 2010 at 1:30 pm with Rev. George Clark officiating and Rev. Pieter Swart assisting. The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Phoebe’s family has requested that donations may be made to the Immanuel Pentecostal Assembly, Charlotte County Cancer Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
