Freda S. Richardson

Mrs. Freda S. Richardson, 98 of North Head, Grand Manan, NB passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Oromocto Hospital, Oromocto, NB. Born in Tracey Mills, NB the daughter of the late Reuel and Geneva (Simonds) Barrett of Tracey Mills, NB. Mrs. Richardson was a school teacher for 321/2 years, nine years in Port Colborne, ON and nineteen years at Grand Manan Elementary. She was a member of the North Head Baptist Church, and taught Sunday school for several years, a member of the Atlantic Baptist Ladies Missionary Society, a former member of the Grand Manan Helping Hands Club, and also was the leader of the Junior Red Cross when she was a teacher at Port Colborne.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by one daughter Nancy (James) Goddard of St. Stephen, one son Ronald (Stella) Richardson of Port Colborne, ON. Five grandchildren and eight Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Mr. Farrell Garth Richardson and one brother Charles Barrett.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home Inc., Grand Harbour on Sunday 2-6 pm. The funeral service will be held from the North Head Baptist Church on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Ron Ford officiating assisted by Rev. Dale Nason. The Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia, NB. The funeral arrangements are in care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC., 1199 Route #776, Grand Manan, NB, E5G 1G2.
