Theodore Rosevelt (Fisher) GREEN
GREEN: Theodore Rosevelt (Fisher) of Seal Cove Grand Manan Island
passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital Friday September 5, 2008. Born
at Seal Cove he was the son of the late Coleman and Ruby (Benson)
Green. Fisher worked hard in the fishery all of his life as a lobster
fisherman, ran scales for the Merle Corporation, and also worked in
the weir fishery. He was very active in the community and served as
Past President of the Grand Manan Curling Club, Past board member with
the NB Fisherman’s Loan Board, served on the Board of
Director’s for the Grand Manan Historical Society, Grand Manan
Museum, and the Grand Manan Wildlife Association. An avid sportsman he
enjoyed hunting and the fellowship it brought with his friends. Fisher
was a member of the Seal Cove Baptist Church and served as a Deacon
for many years. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Eleanor M. Green
(Hatt) of Seal Cove, his two daughters Lois Beechin ( Kevin) of Seal
Cove, Julie Russell (Troy) of Grand Harbour, one son Lloyd Green (Pat)
of Deep Cove, seven grand children, four great grandchildren, many
nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by two grand daughters
Bridgett, and Destiny, three sisters, Mrs. Molly Laffoley, Mrs. Betty
Ingersoll, Mrs. Margaret Guthrie, and one brother Morton.
Visiting hours will be held from Ells Funeral Home on Monday from 2
… 4 and 7 … 9 pm, the funeral service will be held from
the Seal Cove Baptist Church on Tuesday September 9, 2008 at 2 pm with
Rev. Peter Smith officiating. Intermit will follow at the Hillside
Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in the care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME,
