Beatrice Sarah (Beatie) Taylor

TAYLOR; BEATRICE SARAH, ( BEATIE ) 82; of North Head, Grand Manan Island passed away peacefully at the Grand Manan Hospital on Friday, September 5th, 2008. Born at Lockport, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late John and Violet (Scott) Stuart.

Throughout her life she was a loving mother and wife to her family. One of things she enjoyed the most was to entertain people and often appeared at the Grand Manan Rotary Festival variety shows, and also dedicated many hours entertaining the residents of the Grand Manan Nursing Home with her skits, accompanied by her daughter Jocelyn. During her life she worked at many different jobs and later in life she was employed as the Activity Director at the Grand Manan Nursing Home for many years. In the summer months on Saturday mornings you could always find her at the Grand Manan Farmers market with her table of home cooking. She served the Lord at the North Head Baptist Church and always made herself available to help with any function in the Church.

She is survived by her daughter Jocelyn Taylor of North Head; two sisters Mrs. Bonnie Hatt of North Head, Mrs. Alina Walker of Jordan Falls, NS, one brother Mr. Elmer Stuart (Dianne) of Lockeport, NS. Also several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Clifton, her son Vaughn, three brothers, Lionel, Charles and Pryor.

Visitation will be held at the North Head Baptist Church on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, the funeral service will be held from the church on Monday September 8, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Ron Ford officiating. Following the service there will be a reception and all are welcome and invited for fellowship and refreshments. Intermit will follow at the North Head Community Cemetery. Beattie’s family has requested donations may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the North Head Baptist Church.
