Gary Stewart Guptill
1938-2021
Mr. Gary Stewart Guptill of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan, NB passed away peacefully at home on Saturday August 28, 2021 with his loving family at his side.
Gary was born son of the late Bion Lee (Jack) and Gertrude Blanche (Ossinger) Guptill.
Gary was a true fisherman. For over fifty years he fished with his father and then with his sons fishing lobster, scallops and sea urchins. He also captained a Connors Brothers sardine carrier for over 25 years. Gary passed on his work ethic to his sons and daughter and supported his grand children in their work and leisure activities.
Gary is survived by his wife of 59 years Carole Eileen (Green) Guptill of Grand Harbour; daughter Joanne McLaughlin (David Stewart) of Red Point, PE; sons Brian Guptill (Sue Borthwick) of Grand Harbour and John (Tricia) Guptill of Grand Harbour; five grandchildren Jane McLaughlin, Robyn Guptill, Mallory Clinch, Jason Guptill, and Eric Guptill; seven great grandchildren; sisters Lorraine (Dennis) Greene of Grand Harbour and Patricia (Tony) Lyon of Grand Harbour; also nieces, nephews and extended family.
Gary is predeceased by his parents and infant son Norman Guptill.
There will be visitation on Tuesday August 31, 2021 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Community Life Church, Grand Harbour. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at the Community Life at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
