Ella Ramona Cary

Mrs. Ella Ramona (Wilcox) Cary, 85, of Woodward’s Cove, Grand Manan, NB, passed away at The Grand Manan Hospital, on Friday, March 5, 2021, with her loving son by her side.

Ella was born in Seal Cove, and lived on Wood Island with her parents, Leland and Clara (Schofield) Wilcox, and her 11 siblings. Ella was a devoted wife and mother. She worked hard whether it be as a telephone operator or working in the fish to help support her family. Ella had a great sense of humor and loved long chats with friends. She enjoyed walking the beaches, bingo and the fall. Ella cherished being a grandmother and loved her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Ella is survived by her son Jonathan (Jane) Cary of North Head; two grandchildren, Harley (Matthew) Cary, and Ewan Cary of North Head; one sister, Lydia Parker, of Castalia,; sisters-in-law Thelma Wilcox, Helen Wilcox, Betty Wilcox, Marilyn Cary and Betty Macpherson.  Ella will also be missed by many nieces, nephews,

Ella is predeceased by her parents, her husband Beverly Cary, four sisters, Alta Ingersoll, Esther Allen, Nellie Wilcox, Kathleen Wilcox; six brothers Hollis, Manson, Lester, Walter, Willis and infant Donny. 

There will be visitation on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at The Lighthouse Church. Funeral Service will be from The Lighthouse Church on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1:30pm. Masks are mandatory social distancing is required. 

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the Grand Manan Hospital for the compassion and care shown during Ella’s illness. We will be forever grateful.
