Ronald Eugene Brown

Mr. Ronald Eugene Brown, 87, of Woodward’s Cove, Grand Manan Island, NB, passed away at Dark Harbour on Sunday, August 23, 2020. 

Ron was very athletic in his younger years. He played baseball on the Woodstock Elks team that won the NB Championship in 1958; he loved a game of tennis, and curling at the rink. Ron was known to ride his bicycle, in all kinds of weather, it wasn’t only a summer activity. Ron was a fisherman, he loved spending time with family and friends, and time spent at Dark Harbour was always special.

Ron is survived by his wife Maxine (McDowell) Brown, one daughters, Jill Brown, of Castalia; two sons Michael (Nova) Brown of St. George, NB, Jayson (Lorna) Brown of Riverview, NB; seven grandchildren; Adina, Ashley, Isabella, Cheyanne, Mitchel, Traci, Jacob; eleven great grandchildren, and one expected in a few weeks, Cassidy, Aleah, Grace, Abby, Navaeh, Mallina, Hunter, Miyah, Collin, Liam, Cainen. Ron was the eldest child of the late Floyd and Grace (Tatton) Brown of North Head; siblings are Valery (Bud) (Margot) Brown of North Head, Mary (Murry) Brown of Grand Harbour, Arthur (Cheryl) Brown of North Head, James Blair (Claudette) Brown of Florida, Nancy (Roger) Nason of Fredericton, and Jerry (Holly) Brown of North Head. He will be missed by family, friends and many nieces and nephews.

Ron is predeceased by daughter Laureen Brown (1983), and brother Robert Brown (2019).

There will be a service at a later date.
