Robert (Bob) Allison Brown

Funeral service for Mr. Robert (Bob) A. Brown, will be on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at 2:00PM, from the Church of the Ascension, North Head, Grand Manan, NB. Interment to follow in the North Head Community Cemetery.

 

Mr. Robert Allison Brown, 80, of North Head, Grand Manan Island, NB, husband of Joan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Grand Manan Hospital, following a short illness. Bob was the son of the late Floyd and Grace (Tatton) Brown.

 

Bob is survived by his wife Joan (Russell) Brown, of 59 years, daughters, Pamaela (Richard) Boucher of Saint John, NB, Joyce (Derek) Jones of Freelton, ON, and son Bev (Lisa) Brown of Deep Cove, Grand Manan, NB; six grandchildren; Robert and Andrew Clinch, Chelsey Fleet and Christie Laver, Jessica Potter and Jennifer Gordon; eleven great grandchildren. Bob was one of eight children; Ronald (Maxine) Brown of Woodward’s Cove, Valery (Bud) (Margot) Brown of North Head, Mary (Murry) Brown of Grand Harbour, Arthur (Cheryl) Brown of North Head, James Blair (Claudette) Brown of Florida, Nancy (Roger) Nason of Fredericton, and Jerry (Holly) Brown of North Head. He will be missed by sister-in-law’s Sandra MacDonald and Mary (Stan) Green, and honorary daughter Tabitha Bainbridge, and many nieces and nephews.

 

Bob fished 56 years before retiring, working in the herring, scales, shrimp and lobster industry.

 

Bob loved spending time with his family, in his vegetable gardens and coffee time with "the boys". In earlier years he spent time at his Eel Lake camp and winters he liked to curl. For the past few years, Bob was found making toast at Breakfast on the Hill on Saturday mornings.

 

The family would like to thank Dr. Heir and Hallie Bass NP, and the nurses at the Grand Manan Hospital.
