Beverly Nelson Cary

  Mr. Beverly Nelson Cary, 85 of Woodward’s Cove, Grand Manan, NB passed away, at his home due to his declining health, on Friday afternoon, August 23, 2019.

  Bev was a fisherman, starting his fishing career at a young age, he was a counselor for the village of Woodward’s Cove, instructor for twine mending for NBCC, St Andrews, he was in the Coast Guard, he did boat tours, he was an artist, showing his paintings at the Grand Manan Art Gallery, where he was also a member, Bev also enjoyed being part of the Community Choir, he also enjoyed visiting and telling stories of years gone by.

  Bev was the son of the late Samuel and Jeanette (Thompson) Cary. Bev is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Ella (Wilcox) Cary, of Woodward’s Cove, one son Jonathan (Jane) Cary of North Head, two grandchildren, Harley and Ewan, his sister, Betty (Douglas) MacPherson of Saint John, NB, sister-in-law’s, Marilyn Cary, Lydia Parker, Kathleen Wilcox, brother-in-law Willis (Thelma) Wilcox, also nieces, nephews, and many friends.

  Bev is predeceased by his parents, his twin brother, Waverly, 2 ½ years of age, and William Cary in 2014.

  There will be visitation from The Lighthouse Church, on Sunday, August 25^th, 2019 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be from The Lighthouse Church, Grand Harbour, on Monday, August 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

  Memorial donations may be made in memory of Bev, to the Grand Manan Hospital Foundation, The Grand Manan Art Gallery, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
