Marie Florence Thomas

 

Ms. Marie Florence Thomas, of North Head, Grand Manan, NB passed away at The Grand Manan Hospital on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

 

Born in North Head, where she lived her entire life, Marie was a member of the North Head Baptist Church, where she had been the organist for over 60 years, starting at age 14. She worked at Gundry Pymor and The School Board Office as secretary until her retirement. Marie was very active in all aspect of her Church and Community life. Marie was honored to have been the first nonmember Rotarian to have received The Paul Harris Award.

 

Marie will be missed by her sister, Margaret Mersereau, of Fredericton, NB, her brother Allison (Zelda) Thomas, of North Head, one niece Aleta Hayden of Fredericton, NB; one nephew, Walter Mersereau of Sidney, NS; five great nieces and nephews.

 

Marie is predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Pauline Lee and husband Chett, Maudie French and husband Robert; Baby brother Harold, and brother-in-law Jack Mersereau.

 

 There will be visitation on Monday, July 16^th, 2018 at The North Head Baptist Church, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be from the Church, on Tuesday, July 17^rd, 2018 at 1:30PM.

 

 The family have asked donation be made in Marie’s memory to The North Head Baptist Church, or to the donor’s choice.
