Francis Gordon Stanley
1939-2018
Mr. Francis Gordon Stanley, of Grand Manan, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Nursing Home, on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Born in Castalia, Grand Manan, NB he was the son of the late Leo and Rachel (Foote) Stanley.
Francis was a lobster fisherman and worked for 25 years as a deck hand on the Grand Manan Ferry, until his retirement.
Francis is survived by his wife Eva (Reynolds) Stanley, one daughter, Jaunita Jean Stanley of NS, two sons, Robin Stanley (Melissa) of Castalia, Shawn Stanley (Vanessa) of Hopewell Cape, five grandchildren, two sisters Marion Mason (Tim) of Woodward’s Cove, Shirley Collier of Hillsborough, one brothers, Ivan Stanley of Castalia, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one sister, Jaunita Stanley, and one brother Lester Stanley.
Visiting will take place at Castalia Baptist Church, on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 1:00 pm until the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM.
Francis’s family has requested donations be made in his memory to The Grand Manan Hospital Foundation, The Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation or to the donor’s choice.
