Rose Marie Dakin
1936-2018
Mrs. Rose Marie Dakin of Grand Manan, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital, on Monday, February 19, 2018. Born in Campobello, NB she was the daughter of Judson Green and the late Leona (Chute) Green.
Rose Marie worked with her husband in the family business, E. C. Dakin and Son Construction Ltd., for 40 years, until his sudden death in 2006. Rose Marie enjoyed working for the P C party for many years.
Rose Marie is survived by her father Judson Green of Seal Cove, two daughters, Corinne Guptill (James) of St. George, NB, Karen Smith (Calvin) of Seal Cove, one son, Wade Dakin (Tina) of Woodward’s Cove, one sister, Betty Jean Green of Ingalls Head, one sister-niece Verna Hayes (James) of Woodward’s Cove, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rose Marie is predeceased by her mother Leona (2010), and her husband Everett C. Dakin (2006).
Visiting will take place at Ells Funeral Home, on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The Funeral service will be held from The Lighthouse Church on Thursday, February, 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tim Guptill officiation.
Rose Marie’s family has requested donations be made in her memory to, The Grand Manan Hospital Foundation, or charity of the donor’s choice.
