Judson E. Harvey

1937-2017

HARVEY: JUDSON

Judson "Jud" Harvey of Riverview, NB, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital at the age of 80.

Jud was born on October 21, 1937 in Seal Cove, Grand Manan, NB.  He was the only child of Preston and Velma (Foster) Harvey.

Jud graduated from G.M.H.S. in 1956 and went on to receive degrees from UNB in Business and Education.

On May 21, 1960 Jud married his wife of 49 years, Shirley Hamilton, in Canterbury, NB.  He was employed at T. Eaton Co. in Moncton before moving to Lawrence Station as Principal.  He then taught in Temiscaming and New Carlisle, PQ for 2 years each, before moving back to NB to become Principal of Harvey High School for 5 years.  Jud moved his family to Saskatoon, SK for a year to obtain his Masters in Physics, and they then returned to the Maritimes where he finished his teaching career at T.V.H.S. in Plaster Rock, NB.

Jud and Shirley loved to travel. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially in the past 6 years with his good friend Howard.  Jud’s passion though, was coaching girls softball, starting in Lawrence Station and ending with his Maritime Championship winning Reds team in Plaster Rock.

Jud leaves behind his three daughters; Pat (Mike) Dube of Grand Falls, NB, Pam (Michael) Schofield of Woodstock, NB and Paula (Dean McCarty) Harvey of Odell, NB, his 5 grandchildren; Logan, Kelsey, Connor, Caden & Cameron, and 2 great grandchildren Zander & Addelyn, as well as his dear companion, Ann Langis of Riverview, NB.

Jud was predeceased by his parents and his wife Shirley.
