Philip Parker

Parker:  Philip David passed away unexpectedly at his home September 14, 2017.  He was born July 24th, 1932.

Philip loved playing baseball in his younger years.  He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting, buggying, camping making many trails in the woods, building camps, dulsing, climbing up and down rope  at the back of the island where he spent a lot of time at Money Cove, Indian Beach, and Beals Eddy.

Philip had many toys-3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, tractors, and a bulldozer which he took to the back of island.  He worked as a deck hand on many Grand Manan ferry’s for over 28 years.

Philip loved music and wrote most of his own songs that he played with his guitar.  He was a member of the North Head Wesleyan Church. 

Philip will be missed by all who knew him.

Philip is survived by his wife Dorothy (Thomas), 2 daughters, Rosemary (Phillip) Russell, Vanessa Estabrooks (Bobby), St. Stephen, 3 sons, Dale (Cindy), Randy (Terry) Parker, and John Parker, his sisters Betty (Dale) Russell and Judy Guptill.  Philip had many nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by his mother Stella Avery, step Dad Harry Avery and grandson Alex Parker.

Visiting will take place at Ells Funeral Home Sunday September 17th, 7-9 pm.  The funeral will take place from the Lighthouse Church September 18th at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Guptill officiating. 

Donations in memory of Philip may be made to the Grand Manan Nursing Home Foundation, Grand Manan Hospital Foundation, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
