GRIFFIN: DOROTHY MAE (1925-2017)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our mother, Mrs. Dorothy M. Griffin formally of North Head, Grand Manan, NB on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at the Grand Manan Nursing Home.
She was raised with love by her Mom and Dad, the late Gatchel and Iola (Green) Lambert.
Dorothy worked for Canada Post, at the North Head and the Castalia post office for many years. In her younger years she had worked is fish sheds, like so many Grand Mananer’s did in those days. She was a former member of The North Head Wesleyan Church and loved spending time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Ellen Greene of North Head, two sons Burrell Griffin of Castalia, and Gatchel Griffin of Beaver Harbour, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four sisters, Marion Pierce of St. Stephen NB, Linda Slack of Nova Scotia, Marilyn Cary of Woodward’s Cove, Selinda Ryder of Moncton, four brothers, Eugene Lambert of Ontario, John Brown of Seal Cove, Bobby Brown of St. Stephen and Sherwin Brown of Ontario, and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased buy her Mom and Dad, father John Brown, husband Walter Charles Griffin , daughter in law, Joanne Griffin , son in law Randy Greene , four sister Faye Miller, Leola Monroe, Deanna Russell and Edith Brown, and two brothers John Lambert and George Brown.
Visiting will take place at The Lighthouse Church, Grand Harbour on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be from the Church on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Donation may be made in memory of Dorothy, to the charity of the donor’s choice.
