George Herbert Gaskill
1942-2016
GASKILL: GEORGE HERBERT (1942-2016) Mr. George H. Gaskill of Castalia, Grand Manan, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Saturday, December 24th, 2016.
He was born in North Head, Grand Manan, NB the son of the late Charles and Ella (Parker) Gaskill.
George had worked at many different things during his working life, he was a fisherman, picked dulse, dug graves at the cemeteries, worked at the Anchorage Park, on the Ferry Boat just to name a few. George loved to have a conversation with friends he met along the way.
George is survived by his wife, Dorothy May (Flagg) Gaskill, two sons Herbert Gaskill (Annette) and Christopher Gaskill (Lynette) of Castalia, two granddaughters Tiffany Gaskill and Suzanne Gaskill, two brothers Bolen Gaskill and Eben (Bonny) Gaskill, of North Head, many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will take place from the North Head Wesleyan Church Tuesday, December 27th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be from the Church on Wednesday December 28th, at 1:00 pm. with Rev. Steve Bradley officiating.
Donations in George’s memory can be made to Charlotte County Cancer Society, Action Ministry, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
