Clyde Preston Young

Mr. Clyde Young of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island passed away at The Grand Manan Hospital on Saturday June 4th, 2016 with his niece Sharon by his side. He was born in Grand Harbour, Grand Manan, the son of the late Emerson and Royal (Green) Young.  Clyde worked as a farmer, the Department of Transportation on the road crew, and was the care taker of the Grand Harbour swimming pool for many years.  He served on the Grand Manan Volunteer Fire Department and was a faithful member of the Grand Harbour Baptist Church (Community Life Church).

Clyde is survived by his three nieces Sharron Guptill, of Grand Harbour, Deborah (Robert) Burke of Halifax, NS, and Pamela (Robert) Ferguson of Burlington, ON, and their families.  Besides his parents he was predeceased his wife Marjorie (Earle) Young, his only sister Eleanor and her husband, Rev. Norman Burnett.  Also his nephew Murray, and great nephew Galand.

Visiting will take place at Ells Funeral Home from 7-9pm on Monday June 6, 2016. The Funeral Service will be from The Community Life Church on Tuesday June 7, 2016 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Karl Ingersoll Ingersoll officiating. The interment will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery.  Donations may be made to Community Life Church or to the donor’s choice.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of Ells Funeral Home Inc., 1199 Route 776, Grand Manan, NB E5G 1G2.
